Bump Day: Neck Deep in Style

When worn well, a good turtleneck can look incredibly HOT. And who couldn't use some extra heat this time of year? This gorgeous ruched turtleneck hugs your curves in all the right places. Pair it with some easy dress pants and you're ready to conquer the world (or, at least the day at the office).

Great style on a dime.

It's been a very stylish couple of weeks in the maternity world! First, Heidi Klum introduced her new collections. And today, the fabulous Chiarakruza label will be rubbing elbows with Liz Lange over at Target, debuting its new line in stores and online. This first collection has a lot of great easy-to-wear styles that'll carry you through spring and summer. Check it out!

A Valentine's Day Winner!

Happy Valentine's Day, mommas! And a big congrats to Natalie over at Our Old Southern House for taking the prize in the Love Captured Contest. All the love stories were fabulous, but Laura from Chikadeez could only pick one lucky winner!

Thank you to all of you who shared your sweet stories - they were such great fun to read. And though there was only one winner this time, do remember that you can still get a $50 discount off a photo session with Chikadeez Photography just by mentioning Make Room for Style.

I hope you all experience a little *extra* love today. As always, stay tuned for future giveaways and contests. Congrats again to Natalie, and here is her sweet love story that took the prize...

As a child when someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up I would say I wanted to be a mommy. Then I had ovarian cancer when I was 15 and lost one of my ovaries. I had multiple surgeries and lost 1/2 of the other one too. After that I never held hope that I would have a child of my own. I married my best friend in 2005. After a couple of years of marriage he talked me into just trying to have a child. But I had no hope. Then after 13 months something amazing happened--I was pregnant. I went through early pregnancy in a daze, not really believing I was going to be given such a gift. And then we found out it was a girl. A girl, how perfect!

Of course, pregnancy was not easy for me. Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension at 20 weeks. Preeclampsia and strict bed rest at 27 weeks. In and out of the hospital six times before I finally delivered at 37 weeks. My Preeclampsia turned into Eclampsia during delivery. But, she and I survived.

When I finally got to hold her in the recovery room and our eyes met for the first time, well, I was in love. An instant, powerful, would-give-my-life-for-her-in-a-second, kind of love. I've never experienced anything like it. And the most amazing thing is that this love has only grown bigger and bigger. She turned a year old last week. Every day I feel more blessed to be her mother. What an amazing gift I have been given!

More love for your bump...

...just in time for Valentine's Day! Yes, the world of maternity wear gets a little more stylish today as Heidi Klum's new lines for A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity are launched online and in stores. If anyone can make pregancy fashion look effortless, it's Heidi. OK, so that whole being a supermodel thing doesn't hurt either...

Check out her new lines, Lavish for A Pea in the Pod and Loved for Motherhood Maternity. I love that she's done two collections at different price points, making her designs accessible to mommas all over. Take a peek at this video of Heidi sharing some pieces from her new lines and sharing her inspiration earlier this week on Good Morning America...

Brand Favorites: Trumpette

As a self-proclaimed accessories girl, it's only natural that I'd fall head over well-dressed-heels for this delicious brand. There's nothing cuter than wildly colorful tights or socks on a little one, and Trumpette takes the cake on fun socks, if you ask me. But even more drool-worthy? These itty bitty mocs!

Seriously, can it get any cuter? (The only answer to that is a solid "no.") I'll take one in every color, thanks.

Trumpette's first big seller was "The Perfect Little Dozen" - a traditional egg crate filled with 12 pairs of baby socks in a rainbow of colors. The old school ones really were in actual brown egg crates... it was (and still is) one of my favorite go-to baby shower gifts. Just plain adorable, but incredibly practical too!

You've probably also seen their famous Mary Jane socks on little fashionistas around town. And the thing mommas love about Trumpette socks? They stay on.

After 20 years in business, these guys must be doing something right. Check out more of their adorable products here. You can also find Trumpette products at other retailers all over the country. LOVE! And I'll leave you with my absolute favorite... I'm such a sucker for a kid in wellies!
