Costume Conundrum

Got a big Halloween party on tap this weekend? Don't let that baby bump deter you from getting into character. Although I'm not a huge fan of pre-packaged costumes, there are a lot of maternity options out there if you're hunting for a last minute look.

Check at these and other bump-friendly costumes at Amazon. You still have time to get an order to your doorstep before the big day, but get on it, mommas!

And there's still time to get creative if you're looking to work with stuff you already have. Use that bump in your costume... dress up as your favorite pregnant celebrity or character from a movie. My favorite pregnant look last year? The adorably quirky couple from Juno...

Mommas, what were some of your creative costumes while pregnant?

Spanx a lot.

Whether they're sporting a baby bump or not, women across the country have fallen for Spanx body shapers in a big way. And lucky for you, mommas, the Atlanta-based company is continually looking for volunteers to do product testing. In short, volunteers receive products in the mail... wear them as much as they can in the given time frame... then fill out an online survey giving feedback on the products. It's easy, there's no catch, and you generally get to keep the products! What's not to love?

Spanx is looking for women of all shapes and sizes, and would certainly love to have some volunteer mommas-to-be to test maternity products. If you're interested in participating, contact product coordinators Amanda Gardner or Kyli Cohron directly. These ladies can answer all of your questions and get you started.

A word of warning to bloggers, though... if you do volunteer, Spanx does not want you posting any information or feedback, whether good or bad, on the products they send to you for wear testing. Many of these products are not on the market yet and are still being developed. Your feedback should only be shared with Spanx directly, via the online surveys they send to you.

So go get your Spanx on, mommas. Enjoy!

Brand Favorites: Hanna Andersson

What's one of my favorite things about fall? Little girls running around in colorful tights. If I wouldn't get some strange looks, I might wear these myself. But it's a little harder to get away with once you get out of grade school...

And if you ask me, the authority on fabulously fun tights for girls is Hanna Andersson. This is a favorite brand of mine that's been around for over 20 years. There are a lot of "Mommy & Me" type looks in the catalog - not my favorite. But if you can get past that, the kids' clothes are just delicious. But especially tasty this season is their huge selection of tights and leggings.

Atlanta moms, you can find Hanna Andersson stores at Perimeter Mall and Phipps Plaza. I do encourage you to visit a store if you have one nearby. Some catalogs don't do a brand justice and I really think this is one of them. The colors and fabrics are so much more vibrant in person.

How fun are these colors? Even with the dreary, rainy weather we've had here this week, you can't help but smile when you see a little girl in a pair of these.

Bump Day: Cozy Chic

If you're like me, this cold and rainy weather makes you want to grab whatever's most comfy and throw fashion out the window. But comfort and style are not mutually exclusive, mommas. One of my favorite fall basics for growing bumps? A great tunic style sweater over a simple pair of leggings. You can't beat it...
